Sesame Street Party Food

Snacks
Sesame Street party food should certainly be chosen according to what our friends on Sesame Street would eat. Healthy foods such as fruit and veggies are perfect!

Create a platter of fresh vegetables with dipping sauces. Kids love to dip their food. In fact, that is a common trick to get children within 5 feet of carrot and celery sticks! Make up fresh fruit salad with apples, bananas, oranges, and grapes. Almost all children love these fruits because they are the sweetest of the bunch.

To throw in a wild card, put out some of Big Birds Bird Seed … not real bird seed, but sunflower seeds sure look like it!

Remember, that clean-up will be a big effort without a little assitance from the other parents and some disposable items. We recommend a Sesame Street Party pack which has paper plates, napkins and cups which make clean up MUCH easier (trust us).

Sesame Street Birthday Cake
Taste is important, but not nearly as important as whats on top! Decorating a Sesame Street cake can be done yourself or by a local bakery. Even if your using one of these ideas you can ask your baker to create the certain look.

Cookie Monster Cake – It doesn't take a genius to know what cake would best represent the big blue monster that can't control himself around COOKIES! A giant cookie would capture the eyes of all the children as their minds scramble to figure out if its a real cookie wondering how in the world you baked a cookie so big! Here are some creative solutions to making your Cookie Monster Cake look real!
Cook the cake in a round baking pan. If you don't have one then cut the cake into a roundish shape. This might be frustrating but keep in mind you will be frosting it so cracks, tears, and breaks don't really matter.
Stir just a tiny bit of chocolate syrup into white frosting to give it just a tiny bit of tan color … imitating cookie dough.
Take Hershey kisses candy and press them randomly into the cake to represent chocolate chips. If you make any mistakes take frosting and touch it up.

Simple Cake with Color - If an elaborate cake just isn't your thing then do something more simple. Bake a cake in a sesame street cake pan. Use food dye to color white frosting in one of the bright party colors. Get the colorful candles to mix it up on the cake.
Place the candy ABC's and 123's randomly around the cake. ABC's and 123's are a HUGE part of the Sesame Street theme!
Look for miniature Sesame Street figures to top the cake or create a scene.

Sesame Street Cupcakes
Another alternative to cake is to make cupcakes. Cupcakes are great because you don't have a cake to cut but can still have candles on them to blow them out. Plus, if you buy cupcake toppers than all the kids get another toy to add to their party favors!
